Google are constantly testing different things in the search results to see how they perform and, ultimately, find out how they can make more money. Being active in the online SEO community I tend to come across more than most people will, but looking at what Google is testing now can inform the strategies of tomorrow.
So I’m going to keep a record of the search engine result experiments that I find.
The first one for now is ‘plumber in San Francisco’ – try it out and you’ll see Google Home Services – a potential, all advert replacement for the map pack. It should look something like this:
It’s been well documented that the map pack is going to move to include adverts. What’s uncertain is exactly how many. Would you want the map pack replaced entirely with ads? I know I wouldn’t!
